The department was created in 1995. It treats neurosurgical patients with inflammatory complications appearing in preoperative and postoperative stages, including consideration of microflora characteristics, determining its sensitivity and resistance to modern antibacterial drugs.

The Department is located in the 4st building of Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute (see Institute scheme).
