Mykola Yefremovych Polishchuk – Honorary Professor of the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute
Mykola Yefremovych Polishchuk is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine. For many years, he has headed the Department of Neurosurgery at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. Professor Polishchuk is one of Ukraine’s leading specialists in neurotraumatology and emergency neurosurgery. He has developed modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord and spinal injury, and acute cerebrovascular disorders. He has made a significant contribution to the organization and development of the emergency neurosurgical care system in Ukraine. Professor Polishchuk is the author of more than 500 scientific publications, approximately 30 monographs, and 28 inventions and patents. He has supervised the training of 8 Doctors of Medical Sciences and more than 40 Candidates of Medical Sciences, thereby establishing a recognized scientific school of neurosurgery. Mykola Yefremovych Polishchuk is a prominent representative of the scientific school of the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. His professional development, major scientific investigations, and a substantial part of his clinical and academic work are inextricably linked with the Institute. He has made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian neurosurgery, the training of scientific and clinical specialists, and the implementation of modern methods for the diagnosis and treatment of neurosurgical disorders. His scientific, clinical, educational, and organizational activities have played an important role in the development of neurotraumatology and emergency neurosurgery in Ukraine. The conferral of the honorary academic title of Honorary Professor of the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute is a recognition of Professor Mykola Yefremovych Polishchuk’s outstanding contribution to Ukrainian neurosurgery, his scientific achievements, and his long-standing service to the development of neurosurgical education and practice. |
By decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of Neurosurgery dated June 26, 2026 (Minutes No. 9), the academic title of Honorary Professor was conferred upon Professor Mykola Yefremovych Polishchuk.
