24.06.2026. Attention Institute Researchers: Opportunity for Potential Scientific and Clinical Collaboration with University College London

Dear Colleagues,

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and University College London (UCL, United Kingdom), a proposal has been received regarding potential scientific and clinical collaboration involving Ukrainian researchers.

University College London (UCL) is one of the oldest, largest, and most prestigious multidisciplinary universities in the United Kingdom and is consistently ranked among the top ten universities worldwide.

The strategic partnership between the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and UCL creates significant opportunities for attracting international funding to support Ukrainian research. One of the priority areas is to provide Ukrainian researchers, particularly early-career scientists, with direct access to UCL’s extensive grant support system.

UCL possesses well-established infrastructure for supporting international medical projects, including specialized units responsible for the administration of international grants. Obtaining the status of a Global Partner Institution will enable integration into these mechanisms and participation in joint grant programs, as well as eligibility to apply for funding through UCL’s Global Partner Institution scheme, Global Partner Funds, and Global Engagement Funds. These resources are intended to provide seed funding for collaborative initiatives, the development of innovative clinical protocols, and the strengthening of research capacity in partnership with British colleagues.

Collaboration with UCL also provides access to the global biomedical research funding ecosystem.

The establishment of joint research consortia between the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and UCL will enhance the competitiveness of applications for major international grants supporting both fundamental and applied medical research. It will also enable Ukrainian physician-scientists to secure financial support for implementing innovations, conducting high-technology clinical studies, and further integrating Ukrainian medical science into the European Research Area.

In view of the above, we kindly request that you provide, in English, information regarding your main clinical and research interests by 3 July 2026 to Ms. O.Yu. Malysheva, Department of Patent and Licensing Activities and International Relations, via e-mail: malysheva.neuro@gmail.com
