Mykhailo V. Khyzhnyak – Acting Director of the State Institution “Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute” of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Vice-President of the NGO “Ukrainian Neurosurgical Association”. Since 2012 – a member of the American Association of Neurosurgeons.

Main areas of scientific research: development and implementation of modern minimally invasive surgical technologies in spinal pathology.

He has trained 4 candidates of medical sciences, is the author of 5 monographs and about 200 scientific publications, for many years he has been a member of the group for providing educational programs in the specialty 222 medicine – “neurosurgery” for the preparation of doctors of philosophy, the commission for conducting entrance exams for postgraduate studies, and the commission for accepting interim and final reports on research works.
