On March 30, 2026, the General Meeting of the Department of Theoretical and Preventive Medicine took place in the conference hall of the State Institution “Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute of the NAMS of Ukraine”. The General Meeting of the Department of Clinical Medicine of the NAMS of Ukraine was held in the conference hall of the State Institution “Ukrainian Center for Motherhood and Childhood of the NAMS of Ukraine”. On March 31, 2026, the General Meeting of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine was held in the conference hall of the State Institution “Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute of the NAMS of Ukraine”. During the meetings, issues related to the appointment of heads of NAMS institutions, the election of academic secretaries of the departments, and the annual reports of the directors of NAMS institutions for 2025 were considered. Following the discussions, the candidacy of Professor Mykhailo Vitaliiovych Khyzhniak for the position of Director of the State Institution “Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute of the NAMS of Ukraine” was supported and approved. We sincerely congratulate Professor Khyzhniak on his election to this responsible position and wish him strong health, professional inspiration, and new achievements! May his professionalism, experience, and authority contribute to the development of the Institute, the implementation of innovations, and new scientific accomplishments. At the General Meeting, the keynote report titled “Report on the Activities of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in 2025 and Tasks for 2026” was delivered by the President of the NAMS of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences and the NAMS of Ukraine, Vasyl Vasylovych Lazoryshynets, who provided an in-depth analysis of the work of medical scientists over the past year and presented the Academy’s development strategy. All achievements of the Academy’s scientists and the teams of NAMS institutions in 2025 were discussed, key strategic directions for further development were defined, and tactical steps for implementing the strategy were outlined. The institutions of the NAMS of Ukraine serve as a driving force of medical science in Ukraine, a flagship of modern interventional technologies, and a representative of the country within the global professional community.
