24.07.2018. Ukrainian neurosurgeon develops unique implant for treating neck trauma

 
Oleksiy Nekhlopochyn, a Neurosurgeon at the Department of Cerebral and Spinal Pathologies at the Andriy Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv, has developed a titanium implant which can successfully improve the results of neurosurgical treatment in people with injuries of the neck and upper spine. Experts around the world confirm how unique this invention is, and the neurosurgeon who developed it is the first Ukrainian to receive the Sanofi Award for Young Researchers in Medicine. Radio Svoboda interviewed the surgeon about his invention and about neurosurgery in Ukraine.
