She has served as Academic Secretary of the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine since 2026. She graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University. Her educational specialization is Biochemistry; she was awarded the qualification of Biologist-Biochemist and Teacher of Biology and Chemistry. Since 1989, she has been working at the Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, successively holding positions from Junior Research Fellow to Leading Research Fellow at the Department of Neurobiochemistry. Since April 24, 2026, she has served as Academic Secretary of the Institute. Since 2018, N.G. Chopyk has been a member of the support groups for educational programs aimed at training Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students and supporting the postgraduate educational process at the Institute. She delivers lectures in the academic discipline “Methodology of Organizing Scientific Research in Medical Sciences. Fundamentals of Academic Integrity,” participates in the development of educational programs, and organizes the educational process for postgraduate students. Main areas of scientific activity: – Investigation of the role of molecular-biological and genetic mechanisms in the pathogenesis of traumatic brain injury and possibilities for correcting pathological changes. – Study of biomolecular and genetic characteristics of brain and spinal cord tumors. – Research on chemoresistance factors in brain and spinal cord tumors and their consideration in comprehensive treatment. – Chronic effects of low-dose radiation exposure on the nervous system. – Investigation of the effectiveness of embryonic neural tissue transplantation for the treatment of central nervous system lesions of various origins. – Study of molecular-genetic and compensatory processes in ischemic and hemorrhagic lesions. – Investigation of gene polymorphisms in individuals with degenerative intervertebral disc diseases.
